NEW YORK 8 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS

DAY 1: ATHENS – NEW YORK

Departure  from Athens airport onboard flight to New York.  Upon arrival at Newark airport, pick up and transfer to our hotel. Following check in, we will take a short stroll for a first introduction of this fascinating city. Return back to hotel, overnight.

DAY 2:  NEW YORK – CITY TOUR

new york001Today we will tour half part of Manhattan to see the major sights. We will visit Columbus statue, Lincoln Centre with the Philharmonic & Metropolitan opera, a must visit for those who love and appreciate opera. Following we will take a stroll in Central Park, very famous to New Yorkers and very important to them to relax at their free time. Monument of General Grand and the Columbia University, were Greek statues of Greek Philosophers stand as a tribute are next on our tour.  Harlem district the Mecca of Afro-Americans  is next on our visit with Apollo theatre were many famous jazz artists have performed and also Michael Jackson. Today’s tour ends at  5TH Avenue with the famous stores of all well known designers and the Rockefeller Centre, one of the largest  private buildings in the world. Finally we will meet Time Square the most photographed and famous in Manhattan. In the evening we suggest optionally to watch a Broadway play completing a perfect day in New York. (Our office can arrange to book tickets easy and quickly for you).

DAY 3:  NEW YORK – CITY TOUR & CRUISE

new york002Today we will tour the remaining part of the city. We will drive parallel with the river east passing the docks of West Manhattan with spectacular views of Brooklyn Bridge. We will make a stop for pictures at the building of United Nations, headquarters of the organization looking for world peace, human rights ect. We continue our tour up to Central Station, the symbol of the city transferring more than 750.000 people per day. Following we will visit Greenwich Village the district mostly loved by artists and writers.  Other points of interest also Washington Square, New York University (N.Y.U.), East Village, Soho full of famous fashion designers, Little Italy & China Town two of the liveliest neighborhoods were the sense of multicultural is so alive. Wall Street the financial district is next; we will stop for photographs at the statue of Charging Bull and then we will go on to meet point zero monument which reminds us the attacks on 11th of September and just next to point zero we meet ONE WORLD TRADE CENTRE.  At the same area the new station built by the famous architecture CALATRAVAS known as OCULUS, bright white both inside and outside and considered the most expensive Station in the world. Following we will visit Battery Park were we will see from far away the Statue of Liberty, we will then enter the well known  closed Chelsea Market with the gourmet restaurants and plenty local products. Our tour ends with the Hudson River cruise, around the island of Manhattan and next door neighbor t New Jersey.  From the cruise boat we will see the historic Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and Staten Island.  At  the end of the cruise free time for leisure on foot or by taxi.

DAY 4:  NEW YORK – METROPOLITAN MUSEUM & ASTORIA

new york003Full of energy today we will begin our tour on foot with our guide. We will board the metro towards the Greek district of Astoria, were the first Greek immigrants arrived seeking for a better life the 50’s and wrote their own history in New York.  Some free time for Greek coffee, delicious sweets or for lunch at the local restaurants. We will again board the metro and make our way to one of the most famous museums in the world the Metropolitan Museum of Art, full of valuable art gathered from all over the world. It is the 3rd most visited museum after the Louvre and the British museum; here you will see Greek, Egyptian, Asian, African civilization, Islamic arts and much more. One day is certainly not enough to explore the whole museum. If some of you wish to stay in the museum the guide will explain how to reach your hotel either on foot or metro & taxi. A nice proposal for the rest of the day is to visit central park and explore on bike.


DAY 5:  NEW YORK – optional WOODBURY COMMONS OUTLETS

Free day, an optional visit to the famous Woodbury’s Commons is highly recommended. Approximately 1 hour’s drive from the centre of New York the outlets provide 220 stores with designers’ fashion , to name a few, MICHAEL KORS, GUCCI, GUESS, DOLCE &  CABBANA, CALVIN CLEIN, GAP, TIMBERLAND and much more at low prices you cannot imagine! Knock yourselves out with shopping all day. In case one day is not enough in the city of New York you will find plenty outlets to do extra shopping with cheap prices.

DAY 6:  NEW YORK – optional WASHINGTON DC

new york004Free day, we propose the optional full day tour to Washington DC the capital. Washington is much more than just the capital city of a Nation, here you will meet the past, the present and the future of U.S.A. In the White House crucial decisions are made behind closed doors for the future of the planet. In Washington skyscrapers are not present since no building is allowed to be taller than the Capital building (only exception is Obelisk monument). National symbols such as the Capitol and the White House are accessible to visitors, along with dozens of other tourist attractions that include world-class museums and important monuments. Almost all of these are in or near the northwestern quadrant along the mall and are best seen on foot.

DAY 7 & 8:  NEW YORK –  Brooklyn Heights & Brooklyn Bridge – OUTBOUND FLIGHT

Today is full of New York! The last day since our flight is late at night; we will take this advantage to see more of the city. We will walk with our guide the Brooklyn Heights area with the stone houses a reminder of old times. Rustic architecture and well cared gardens along with the breath taking views of Manhattan will make this a very pleasant walk. Time to walk on the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the oldest hanging bridges of U.S.A. connecting Manhattan with Brooklyn.  Time to return to our hotel to prepare ourselves for the ride to the airport for our flight back home.
